The UCLA Learn To Be Club reached out to hundreds of prospective tutors at UCLA's Enormous Activities Fair on Monday, September 21, 2009. More than 300 campus organizations hosted booths to encourage UCLA students to get involved in their community.

The Learn To Be Foundation will be participating in the 8th Annual Walk for Hope on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at El Dorado Park in Long Beach.

The Walk for Hope is a reminder of the things that matter most in life. The purpose of the entire event is to spread more love in the world. The entire 5 kilometer route (3 miles) is decorated with inspiring quotes, all of them hand-made. You can also expect to find activity stations along the walk route.

Participating charities (as of 10/15) include: American Cancer Society, Amnesty International, Be the Cause, Be The Match Marrow Registry, Childs-pace Foundation, Clarendon Foundation, Common Ground Spiritual Center, Community Action Partnership of Orange County, Corazon de Vida Foundation, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, Donate Life, Estelle for Humanity, Expedicion Alegria - Expedition of Happiness, Helping Hand Worldwide, Invisible Children, Learn To Be Foundation, Love Without Boundaries, Manav Sadhna, NextAid, OC Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, OC Interfaith Coalition for the Environment, Peace4Kids, Rosemary Children's Services, SAHARA (South Asian Helpline and Referral Agency), Sarcoma Alliance, Seeds of Light, Spencer Hospice Foundation, Spirituality for Kids, The Africa Project, The Cameron Siemers Foundation for Hope, Tias Arms, Tony's Treehouse, and Veterans for Peace.

Tiger Woods Learning Center PDF Print

The Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim invited the Learn To Be Foundation and other community partners to participate in its annual College Resource Fair on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Students in grades 7-12 and their families had the opportunity to hear from college representatives and learn about educational services available to them.

Housed in a 35,000 square foot facility equipped with the latest technology, the Tiger Woods Learning Center aims to get students interested in how education impacts their futures by stimulating interest in math, science, technology, and language arts. The Learn To Be Foundation was proud to partner with this dynamic organization.

 

  

 

 

 
Learn To Be's 1st Annual Benefit Dinner PDF Print

Learn To Be hosted its 1st Annual Benefit Dinner on July 31, 2009 at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center. With approximately 150 guests in attendance, the event featured a demonstration of Learn To Be's innovative online tutoring model, highlighted accomplishments and goals for the coming year, and recognized community partners and volunteers.
