Learn To Be hosted its 1st Annual Benefit Dinner on July 31, 2009 at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center. With approximately 150 guests in attendance, the event featured a demonstration of Learn To Be's innovative online tutoring model, highlighted accomplishments and goals for the coming year, and recognized community partners and volunteers.

Hulu.com, which offers commercial-supported streaming video of TV shows and movies, has generously donated free commercial air time to Learn To Be. Here are some production shots and screenshots. Look for the commercial to start running on Hulu.com beginning in September!

Learn To Be is proud to partner with Project Access, an organization that assists low-income families and seniors in affordable housing achieve self-sufficiency through access to onsite services in education, health and social services. On Tuesday, Learn To Be visited Project Access at Tara Village in Cypress, CA to check up on the progress of some students.

To promote the importance of higher education, Learn To Be partnered with the Anaheim Achieves after-school program on June 6 at the 8th annual Anaheim Achieves Showcase at Pearson Park. Learn To Be staff had the opportunity to reach out to more than 1,000 children, parents and community representatives in a fun-filled afternoon with games, prizes and free resources for families.As parents gathered more information about free online tutoring, children enjoyed playing ring toss with Learn To Be's new mascot, "Tobe." 
 
Learn To Be was proud to partner with Anaheim Achieves, an award-winning program that keeps more than 5,000 students safe after school. |

On Friday, members of the Learn To Be executive board met with tutors and members of the new steering committee of the 2009-2010 Learn To Be student club at UCLA. This fall, the Learn To Be club will debut on campus with the mission of recruiting a community of tutors dedicated to serving the Learn To Be cause.
