These are carried out not only through the advanced technology of the online classrooms and outstanding abilities of its tutors, but also through the passion and drive of the people who make it all possible. I am fortunate to have worked with these individuals who have made such a high impact on others, including myself, and I am excited to watch and hopefully help the organization progress as I know it is destined for great things." "The Learn To Be Foundation not only laid the ground work for my future potential in marketing or graphic design, but introduced me to the core values present in nonprofit organizations. The foundation truly cares for the educational growth of underprivileged children. The internship taught me how to think outside of the box and reach out a helping hand to the younger generations that will one day play a crucial role in the development of our society." "Interning at Learn to Be was great because instead of running errands and doing office tasks, I was actually getting to learn about marketing and gaining real experience. I was able to create fliers and ads, make press releases, and go into the community to spread the word about this great organization. It was a great experience and I learned quite a bit from it!" “I'm doing work that pertains to graphic design, instead of being an assistant. It's a relaxed atmosphere which makes it much easier to deal with on top of school and all the activities that go with it. I have a lot of things to put into my portfolio, and I got actual experience with printers and how they work which I haven't gotten to do before.” “I liked working with people who are creative, flexible, and intelligent who are not far from my own age. They became true role models and mentors. I liked being able to voice my opinion about anything and expressing any ideas for marketing and promotion that are far from traditional. The variety of the work tasks that were given provided job enrichment, anywhere from making a promotional video to making posters.” “I am glad I participated in this program because it allowed me to see how a nonprofit organization works from the ground up. As a business economics major who has never had marketing experience, I finally got the opportunity to see a little bit what marketing tasks involved. Working around my campus for an actual cause was also something that I've never done before at UCI.” “I've made many friends here in the office, and it is clear that these friends are friends beyond the office environment. I've learned a new programming language during my time here and some very valuable programming experience.” |
