Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
My name is Monica and I am the mother of 3 biological children and 3 bonus children from my husband in my marriage (ages 7-14). We are a blended family and of course chaotic schedules. My husband is a 90% disabled veteran who is still in the army reserves and full time student at Mid American Christian University. We live on a fixed income and really are struggling finding tutors for 2 of our children this year. This is the first time we have ever needed math tutoring but my 6th (Kayla) and 8th (Lena) graders are already on the path to failing math. I have been unable to help them and not sure where to turn. We recently budgeted wifi for our home for the ability to google websites to help with schoolwork but realizing they need an actual tutor and self help websites are not working (and I am lost on their math problems). We need help for our daughters.
Lena (Algebra 1) will flourish once she understands how to do the formulas but is a little slow at grasping initially.
Kayla (6th grade math) struggling currently with order of operations andevaluating expressions.
What are you most grateful for?
I am so greatful for Jesus. the love and mercy of our father has taken brokenness in our lives and continues to heal our family. We are able to raise our children to be respectful and impactful disciples for the Kingdom. Everyday is a blessing and we know although considered in poverty here in the US, we live a very rich life with love, grace, forgiveness, kindness and humility. :-)
Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
Evaluating expressions, orders of operation currently.
According to the student, how can we make the world a better place?
We could start recycling and not throw all of our trash on the ground
What is the student's favorite book?
