Deja is a 5th grader who needs help in Math.

Get to know Deja and his family better

Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Deja is a playful 11 year old. She still acts like a five year old at times lol. She loves to play. She loves to read as well and is a very good reader! She has had some difficulties in life already. She lost her mom in August of 2017 and it has been rough on her. She is trying to get adjusted to her new life living with me (her aunt) and my daughter (her cousin). She's not living in the home with her Dad and older brother anymore, so that is a big change. She's not used to dealing with the structure and discipline that I have at my home. I'm not a stickler, but she's coming from an environment of no discipline or supervision at all. So, we are in a power struggle right now because she's us to having her way. She's not disrespectful or sassy or anything, but she doesn't follow certain rules without being told several times (but that's all kids right?). I just want her to learn her math so that she can feel more confident about herself and boost her self-esteem. She is getting there and I can't wait to see her flourish!
