Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Dawson has ADHD. When he doesn't have an interest in something, he simply won't try. He completes his work but fails to turn the stuff in. He fails to ask for help when he knows he needs it. Some things will be wrong and when it's handed back to fix, he won't ask how it's supposed to be done if he doesn't know. He struggles to show his work. That's not a strong skill of his. He is on an IEP currently and that class is the loudest and last class of the day. He does love to learn and will sit (his choosing) in the front of the class. He's so smart! He has so much passion for people and is really kind and funny! He wants to excel in school, but tells us at home that he has completed the work in class, but when it comes to taking notes for something or studying, forget it. He gets home and he's done for the day! He doesn't even want to try or think about school anymore! He is our only child. He's had to grow up fast. We have thought about an in home tutor, but with our financial situations we simply CANNOT afford one. This is our last result in getting him help. I cannot help with math at all as I never learned this in school and his dad doesn't know the common core end! The 3rd semester had already started about 3 weeks ago. He already has 3 D's! Please help!
What are your greatest hopes for your student?
We hope that Dawson will learn to take self initiative in responding to the work put in front of him. He'll be in high school in the fall, and weather he's interested in a subject or not, he needs to do the work with quality intentions and with interests or not. We hope that he will grow and learn to put aside the small mishaps and understand that everyone, everyday, asks for help!
What are you most grateful for?
My family! I'm super grateful that I have a teenager with so much passion and love for multiple things and people. I'm super grateful that he loves to learn!
Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
He completes the work but doesn't turn it in. When he finally does turn it in, there are some wrong answers and doesn't ask for help with the wrong answers. It's algebra, scientific notations and word problems. He has a difficult time showing how he got his answers!

To end world hunger
What is the student's favorite book?
What does the student want to 'learn to be' when they grow up?
