Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Madalyn is a funny, sensitive 10 year old gir.l She is a wonderful sister to her 2 and 3 year old brothers. She loves acting and has been in three production with the free non profit acting company Kidsplay inc. in our town. She has also just started Girls on the run and is active in our church , Park Chapel.
She has been through a lot and is struggling in school, but cares about her performance, and is sometimes hurt by the things other children say when the realize she is struggling in school. We have recently gotten reliable health insurance and are trying look into any learning disabilities that may be holding her back.
We are getting on our feet now, but have struggled with multiple moves and homelessness recently. Her father has a better job now that is providing more stability . Now we are trying to make right what was missed in her early years of school so she can reach the potential she desires and we know she is cabable of.
What are your greatest hopes for your student?
Our hope for her is that Madalyn can see that learning can be fulfilling and is the best tool to take her where she wants wants to go in life. That school shouldn't be a source of excessive anxiety. We want her to feel as cabable as the next student.
What are you most grateful for?
That we are able to be a normal family. That we have each other and that we live in a country with the opportunity to help others, recieve help and to live and worship freely.

She has foundational gaps holding her back from gasping new concepts.
According to the student, how can we make the world a better place?
She thinks everyone being kind and doing what they can for each other will make a difference.
What is the student's favorite book?
Her favorite book is Sisters By Raina Telgemeier.
What does the student want to 'learn to be' when they grow up?
She would like to be a dance teacher or a teacher of some kind.
