Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Alexis is 16 years old. She is very creative and outgoing, she also likes to be called Lexi. She has one sister(9) and her father is out of the picture which impacts her from time to time. Lexi hasn't always struggled with math, in elementary school she was outstanding in math class, but she started not doing as well in the subject when she got scores for her reading test when she had to move schools. The school held her back because she was far behind in reading, so she ended up focusing more on reading in fear of failing again not realizing she needed to focus on math as well. As time went on and we tried getting her help in math, her teachers never seemed to explain the concepts in a way she grasped it. She was diagnosed with ADHD in 1st grade when she could hardly sit still. She struggles with depression as well which has a major impact on her school work and homework. I'm not sure why but starting from the 6th grade she refused to do her homework and stayed in her room all the time. This year she was trying to get help and it was the first time she made a C in her math classes, she was really happy but she still struggles with completing her homework. I'm hoping this program really helps her because I know she wants to graduate on time and I want her to graduate on time as well.

What are you most grateful for?
The people I love and to have an opportunity to learn and get a good education.
Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
My child needs help with algebra. I have been trying to help her for two years but I can't find anything to help so far so I'm going to tutoring. I want her to be able to graduate on time with her class. There isn't any specific thing in her algebra that she struggles with its just the concept of her grasping the text and understanding the topic. When she really tries she can understand it she just need to push herself.
