Please describe your student and why you qualify for tutoring.
Isabel is a 6 year old girl she is a very positive and enthusiastic child loves learning new things as long as they are fun in her eyes she likes Hands-On activities as well as experiments she went through her first round of State Testing as a first grader and did fairly well on all the subjects for the exception of the English language arts / reading portion of the exam where she barely passed with a 71 reading has been an ongoing issue for her and even though we have instilled rhyming words and reading bedtime stories she has gotten into the habit of memorizing the stories versus actually reading


What are your greatest hopes for your student?
I'm hoping that with the tutoring program Isabelle can Excel and master reading like she has mastered and excelled at all the other subjects I'm hoping that she can catch up with her classmates and begin rating chapter books before she moves on to second grade.


What are you most grateful for?
I am grateful that there are a lot of community programs online as well as within our Houston Metro area that cater to kids that need help or want to do activities but parents don't know how to get their children involved


Please describe specifically what your student needs help with.
When it comes to reading my child struggles a lot with language arts on the grammar spelling sentences as well as rating and reading comprehension of those sentences. One of the biggest issues that she has is phonics sounding Out for example the ending sound of cat the at part does not make sense to her when you change the beginning letter like bat, rat, mat. When it comes to reading a book she is very good at memorizing the words and the book itself verbatim but when you ask her to point at the word and read it she does not know what that word is or means even though she may have said it when she was "reading" the book

Being nice to each other

Green eggs and ham


What does the student want to 'learn to be' when they grow up?
She wants to be a doctor
