Charis Learns to Read

The teacher called on Charis to read. Her heart was pounding. "I can't do it!" Charis whispered. But the teacher smiled and said, "It's okay, just take your time."

Charis took a deep breath and tried to sound out the first word. It was hard, but she kept going. Soon, she was reading the whole sentence! The class clapped and cheered.

From that day on, Charis practiced reading every day. At first, it was still tricky. But she didn't give up. Slowly, Charis got better and better at sounding out the words.

One day, Charis raised her hand and read a whole page out loud. The class listened quietly, and when she finished, they erupted in applause. Charis beamed with pride.

Charis learned that reading takes time and practice. But with hard work, she could do it! Now she loves reading and looks forward to it every day at school.
