Giya sat on her balcony drawing beautiful pictures with bright blue chalk. Her three cats—Gordita, Cake, and Cupcake—watched from nearby. Cake and Cupcake whispered to Gordita, "Roll around in the chalk! It'll be so fun!" Gordita shook her head nervously. "I can't! Giya will be upset with me," she meowed.
"Don't worry!" the other cats promised. "We'll clean you off right away. It'll be easy!" Gordita thought about it for a moment, then agreed. She rolled around on the blue chalk pile, getting her beautiful calico fur completely covered in bright blue powder.
When the cats tried to clean Gordita, they discovered a big problem. The chalk wouldn't come off! No matter how much they licked and rubbed, Gordita stayed blue. She looked like a furry blueberry. The three cats panicked. What would Giya say?
Desperate to hide the blue fur, Gordita spotted Giya's colorful Lego flowers on the balcony table. Maybe eating them would solve the problem somehow. She crunched down on a plastic flower with a loud CRUNCH! Just then, Giya walked onto the balcony. "What was that noise?" she asked, looking confused.
Giya gasped when she saw Gordita covered in blue chalk. But instead of getting angry, she laughed. "You silly cat! This is actually beautiful. You look like a special blue cat!" She gently gave Gordita a bath, and soon her calico fur returned to normal. Gordita purred happily, grateful her owner understood. From that day on, the cats were more careful around art supplies.
