# Tommy's Big School Day Title: Tommy's First Day in Second Grade

Tommy found his desk and sat down quietly. He looked around at all the other kids. Some were drawing pictures, and some were reading books.

A girl named Maya sat next to Tommy. She asked, "Do you want to be my friend?" Tommy nodded and felt a little better.

Mrs. Chen showed the class a big math problem on the board. Tommy tried hard to count on his fingers. Maya helped him understand the answer.

At lunch time, Tommy sat with Maya in the cafeteria. They shared their snacks and talked about their favorite games. Tommy wasn't scared anymore.

During art class, Tommy painted a colorful picture. His painting had bright red flowers and a big yellow sun. Mrs. Chen said it was wonderful.

When it was time for recess, Tommy and Maya played tag with other kids. They ran and laughed together outside. Tommy was having so much fun.

Back inside, the class read a fun story about a silly cat. Everyone giggled at the funny parts. Tommy loved listening to Mrs. Chen read.

At the end of the day, Tommy packed his backpack slowly. He didn't want to leave school anymore. He had made a new friend.

Tommy walked home with a big smile on his face. He couldn't wait to tell his mom about his amazing day. Second grade was going to be great!
