Giya's Pets Learn a Lesson at School

Giya's eleven pets arrived at school excited and nervous. Gordita, Cupcake, and Cake the cats stretched their paws. Pumpkin, Orange, and Cheese the fish bubbled happily. Cocoa, Corn, and Cornelius the hamsters scurried around. Quackles and Benjamin the ducks waddled together, and Pengweyno the penguin walked proudly. They all sat in spelling class, ready to learn.

Mrs. Garcia, their teacher, handed out a difficult spelling test. The words were so hard! Gordita stared at her paper confused. Cupcake tapped her pencil nervously. The hamsters whispered to each other. Even smart Pengweyno looked worried. Nobody understood the assignment.

Frustration grew quickly. Cupcake threw her book first. BAM! Then Cake followed. THUMP! Soon all the pets were throwing their books everywhere. Papers flew like snow. Their books crashed into Mrs. Garcia, and she tumbled backward in surprise. Everyone froze in silence.

"My office, all of you," Mrs. Garcia said firmly. Giya's pets received ten days of detention. They spent the time sitting quietly, thinking about their choices. Finally, they returned to class, ready to try again.

Mrs. Garcia handed out the spelling test once more. This time, the pets remained calm and focused. But the words were still very difficult. When they finished, they felt discouraged about their grades. Before Mrs. Garcia could even collect the papers, the frustrated pets threw their tests in the air. The teacher looked disappointed. The principal had no choice—two weeks of suspension for everyone.

Giya's pets learned something important that day. Getting angry doesn't solve problems. Hard work, patience, and trying your best matter most. When they returned, they studied hard and improved their spelling. Mrs. Garcia was proud.
