It was a scorching hot day in the vast desert, and Alex was starting to feel the effects of the relentless sun. His car had broken down miles away from the nearest town, and he hadn't seen another soul for hours. The endless stretch of sand and the old, abandoned buildings only added to the eerie atmosphere.
As he trudged along the deserted highway, Alex started to notice strange things – a tattered shirt here, a rusted car there. Something didn't feel right. He picked up his pace, hoping to find help or at least a sign of life.
Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of a figure in the distance. At first, he thought it was a mirage, but as the figure drew closer, Alex's heart raced. The person's face and body were twisted and deformed, like something out of a nightmare. Alex froze, unsure of what to do.
The mutant figure approached him, its movements jerky and unnatural. Alex's mind raced, trying to decide whether to run or stay put. He couldn't take his eyes off the monstrous creature, and a chill ran down his spine.
Just as the mutant was about to reach him, Alex heard a faint sound in the distance. Squinting his eyes, he could make out the shape of a vehicle in the distance. Relief washed over him as he realized help was on the way. He backed away slowly, keeping his eyes on the mutant, until the approaching vehicle came into view.
