Nalini was a kind-hearted third-grader who loved all animals. She lived in a small town near a forest, and every day after school, she would go for a walk and see if any of the forest creatures needed her help.
One day, as Nalini was walking through the woods, she heard a soft whimpering sound coming from a nearby bush. She carefully parted the leaves and found a tiny, injured puppy. The poor pup had a hurt paw and was shivering in the cold.
"Oh, you poor thing!" Nalini exclaimed. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you." She gently picked up the puppy and carried it back to her house, where she cleaned its wound and made a cozy bed for it to rest.
