Luke was excited for the first day of fifth grade. He had a brand-new backpack and couldn't wait to show it off to his friends. But when he arrived at school, his backpack was nowhere to be found!

Luke searched everywhere, but it had vanished. He told his teacher, Mrs. Wilson, who promised to help him find it. Together, they interviewed Luke's classmates, but no one had seen the backpack.

As the day went on, Luke grew more and more worried. Where could his backpack be? Had someone taken it? Just as he was about to give up, he noticed a student, named Sarah, acting strangely.

Luke decided to follow Sarah and see what she was up to. He watched as she snuck into the janitor's closet. Curious, Luke peeked inside and couldn't believe his eyes - there was his backpack, hidden behind a stack of cleaning supplies!

Luke confronted Sarah, and she confessed that she had taken the backpack as a prank. She apologized and promised to never do it again. With his backpack safely returned, Luke was relieved and ready to start the school year off right.
