Meimei was a curious third-grader who loved exploring the woods near her home. One day, as she wandered through the trees, she stumbled upon a peculiar sight – a fox's tail, lying on the ground. Intrigued, Meimei picked it up, feeling the soft, silky fur between her fingers.
Suddenly, a pack of wolves emerged from the bushes, their golden eyes gleaming. Meimei's heart raced, but she remembered her parents' advice – stay calm and don't run. Holding the fox tail tightly, she stood her ground, hoping the wolves would leave her alone.
To Meimei's surprise, the wolves approached her cautiously, sniffing the air. Then, one of the wolves stepped forward and gently nudged the fox tail in her hand. Meimei realized that the wolves must have been hunting the fox, and she had unknowingly found its lost tail.
Carefully, Meimei placed the tail on the ground, and the wolves surrounded it, sniffing and whimpering. Meimei watched in awe as the wolves worked together to retrieve the precious item. Once they had the tail, the pack turned and disappeared back into the forest, leaving Meimei alone but unharmed.
As Meimei made her way home, she couldn't stop thinking about the encounter. She had learned that even the fiercest of creatures could be gentle and caring when it came to their own. From that day on, Meimei developed a newfound respect for the animals in the woods, and she continued to explore the forest, always keeping her eyes open for more furry adventures.
