It was a sunny day at Maple Elementary School. Sammy, a curious first-grader, was excited to open his lunchbox and enjoy his favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But when he opened his locker, his lunchbox was gone! Sammy's eyes grew wide with surprise.

"Where is my lunchbox?" he asked his best friend, Lily. Lily shruged her shoulders, just as confused as Sammy. The two friends decided to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the lunchbox.

They searched high and low, looking in every nook and cranny of the classroom. Suddenly, Lily noticed a trail of crumbs leading to the back of the room. "Look, Sammy!" she exclaimed. "Someone must have taken your lunchbox!"

Sammy and Lily followed the crumb trail, which led them straight to the class hamster's cage. Inside, they found Sammy's lunchbox, with only a few crumbs left. The hamster had been the culprit all along!

Sammy and Lily couldn't help but giggle at the silly mystery they had solved. They were glad to have their lunchbox back, and they made sure to keep it safe from the hungry hamster from then on.
