I have been tutoring for LearnToBe for nearly a year now and I would like to say that this program is amazing for not just the students but also the tutor's themselves. This past year, I have noticed a serious progression in several of my student's skills. Specifically, I have tutored more in math. My student started rough without a strong foundation in math lacking knowledge in areas such as computation or understanding negative numbers. In my journey with him, we have not only solidified such foundations but also improved upon them and added new concepts. Working with him on a weekly basis allows me to do a weekly recap on what occurs in class and what Is upcoming regarding assessment of his knowledge. I prepare him by checking his current understanding of what they are teaching him and preparing him for the rest of the topics in his unit. I think tools that are provided by LearnToBe such as the IXL subscription and Exercises have an impact. One moment that stood out to me, was when his parent reached out to me thanking me for my dedication, and stating that his teacher had noticed the impact of my tutoring in the classroom environment. Overall, I would say that the LearnToBe tutoring program has a significant effect on children's learning and tutor's teaching skills.
