My student that I taught, was able to catch up on her missing homework as well as finish her recent worksheets that she had. She did exceptionally despite her disability. After 3-4 sessions she started picking up the problems and was able to work on them on her own. She did make mistakes but she never gave up! We focused on excellence rather than perfection and I was very impressed with how she was able to work with math even though at first she was mostly confused. She was more of a friend and we had a lot of fun goofing around while still finishing her work. She gave me the confidence to continue teaching and explaining things the way I did which furthered my motivation and pursue my purpose of tutoring children to the best of my ability.
About half the kids in this country can't read. Our tutors are changing that. You can too. When we teach kids to read, they don't just get to enjoy Harry Potter. They start to do better in math and science as well. They graduate from high school more frequently. They're able to read the application for that job they want. They gain confidence and dignity. They learn about the world about them. And they get to be a part of changing that world for the better.
