It is always rewarding when a child shows academic growth from tutoring. It is even better when he/she goes from being a reluctant learner to being excited about the next session.

My daughter Nicole recently joined LTB, and she and I now work as a mother/daughter team to provide both reading (me) and math (Nicole) to our shared student.  I am a retired Reading Specialist, and Nicole is a college student. Somehow experience and youth blend together to provide our little student with the best tutoring experience(s) we can.

Last evening, our student asked me if the 3 of us (and our pets) could have a tutoring session together on her birthday. She requested a combination of activities she enjoys from both of her  tutoring  sessions, some reading-related, some math-related.

Nicole and I took it as a high compliment that our student would want to spend part of her birthday tutoring with us.  Of course, the answer is yes.  Even though we tutor different subjects on separate days, we will combine that day and make this birthday session special.

Seeing a child become excited about tutoring and finding out how much fun learning can be is the best part of this LTB experience. Having my own daughter join LTB as a tutor and share this experience with me, has made tutoring even more fun and rewarding!
