Description

An introductory writing course for Kindergartners and early 1st graders. Students learn what a sentence is, identify the WHO and WHAT, distinguish between statements, questions, exclamations, and commands, and practice building sentences with capital letters and end punctuation.

Outcomes

• Recognize and write complete sentences with a subject and predicate
• Use capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end of sentences
• Identify and write the four sentence types (statement, question, exclamation, command)
• Expand sentences by adding WHERE, WHEN, and describing words
• Join ideas using "and"
