In a previous testimonial, I addressed the gratification that both my student and I receive from tutoring. My focus is on reading and grammar, and my student and I review and work on many relevant exercises.
However, during our sessions, I have come to realize that maturity and life experience may also be a part of tutoring and the life lessons we share. For example, my student and I have discussed how people learn, role models, and observation. We have also discussed fear and what makes some individuals frightened of certain objects, animals, and so on, as well as topics such as popularity and bullying at school.
I do not see my role as a replacement for a parent, but rather as someone who can complement and support them. I am very fortunate to have been able to establish a safe, nonjudgmental environment for my eight-year-old student. I would like to think that she will fondly remember her time with Learn To Be.
