My favorite thing about learn to be is that I have the ability to make a connection with someone miles away on the whole other side of the US. Furthermore, I love to see the joy in my students face and get to know her more as she opens up to me. Seeing her succeed brings so much joy to my face for her success is my success because I helped give her the tools to get there. About half the kids in this country can't read. Our tutors are changing that. You can too. When we teach kids to read, they don't just get to enjoy Harry Potter. They start to do better in math and science as well. They graduate from high school more frequently. They're able to read the application for that job they want. They gain confidence and dignity. They learn about the world about them. And they get to be a part of changing that world for the better.
